Convert Shapefile to DXF online
Upload a zipped Shapefile, check it on the map, download a DXF for any CAD software.
Why convert Shapefile to DXF here?
- Pick the column that becomes the layer name: one CAD layer per value (e.g. each
typeof pipe). - Reprojected from the .prj to the system you choose, or to UTM metres if the data is in degrees.
- Several Shapefiles in one zip are merged into one DXF.
- Small files (under 1 MB) download for free, 3 a day.
How it works
- UploadDrop your file, up to 50 MB. Nothing to install, no account.
- See it on the mapEvery layer drawn on a map in a minute or two. Click an object to see its attributes.
- Place & checkCoordinate system from the file, from the coordinate labels, by search or with 2 points. AI names the layers; you correct them.
- DownloadFiles under 1 MB are free (3 a day). Bigger files: one payment per conversion.

FAQ
How do I convert SHP to DXF?
Zip the .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj, drop the zip above, check it on the map, then download the DXF.
Are the attributes kept?
The column you pick names the layers. The other attributes are not stored in the DXF, which is a drawing format; keep the Shapefile next to it for the table.
Which coordinate system will the DXF use?
The one you type (any EPSG code), else the Shapefile's own if it is in metres, else the UTM zone of the data.
What happens to my files?
Your files are deleted after 24 hours and never used for AI training. They are only used to make your conversion.
Can I get a refund?
No: the free map preview is there so you can check the result before you pay. If a file doesn't open, e-mail us and we'll fix the conversion.
Paid downloads?
Paid downloads open in a few days. Until then files under 1 MB download for free, and Max AI is free to try.
